I recently had some yummy pizza that was suggested we eat it with chili oil. So I drizzle a small amount over the pizza, and wow was it amazing! The chili oil was bursting with flavor and lots of spiciness! I kept thinking about that chili oil and how I wanted more for using at home on pasta, to dip in bread, or grilled vegetables. So of course I made my own!
The recipe I found was super quick and easy, and as you all know I love easy and simple cooking! You only need two ingredients, olive oil and red chili flakes. Heat on low for about 5 minutes, cool for several hours and then strain the chili flakes out with a strainer. The recipe did not call to strain the flakes out, but I didn’t want my chili oil crazy spicy! I wanted just a subtle hint of chili, the kind that leaves a tiny tingle later. So happy I decided to make this and you will be too, once you taste your own!
