I love lipstick, especially matte lipstick. It’s so chic and very retro, which I admire and strive to have that look. Which brings me to my review today. NYX cosmetics has recently released matte lipsticks to their already great line of lipsticks and other makeup products. I was browsing my local ULTA a while back and saw that they had a lot if not all of the collection. They have a whole range of nudes to reds, to bright pinks and darker reds. I of course had to get a nude and some bright, bold lippies!
They come in a matte black tube with a little see-through window in the middle. To me the packaging is a little flimsy and kind of cheap looking. But that doesn’t really matter as long as the lipstick itself is amazing! The color you see in the middle is the actual lipstick. Which gives you an idea of the color, however at ULTA the lipsticks weren’t sealed so you could open them and see. Thankfully they also had testers out so you could swatch the color on your hand. I just hate when people ruin a lipstick by swatching it or using it, not to mention rather gross, so I was thrilled to see the testers!
These lipsticks are creamy and smooth, especially so for a matte lipstick. Sometimes mattes tend to be drying and can look horrible on the lips. Not these. The colors I chose were great for me! Nude was a peachy nude which are my favorite types of nudes. Indie Flick is this vibrant, outrageous orange-red. And Shocking Pink is a mid-tone bright and as they say shocking pink! These colors are going to be great for summer when you need to add a pop of color to your look! You can get these and the others in the range at ULTA, nyxcosmetics.com, cherryculture.com, and anywhere else NYX is sold! Try them out, you won’t be sorry!
